# Splash screen not appearing

### Why do I see AppMySite's splash screen in the demo app instead of my custom design?

AppMySite enables you to test your app via our demo apps. While testing your app, you will see AppMySite’s splash screen and not the one you designed for your app. You cannot preview your splash screen on the demo app or in the Preview section in your AppMySite account.

#### How to Preview Your Custom Splash Screen

You can fully preview your custom-designed splash screen by testing your app on actual devices:

**For Android Devices:**

<div data-full-width="false"><figure><img src="https://3330324049-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FxUo90vXzDtbgOtaUaLYv%2Fuploads%2Fp7NWSIzEiSazv2JhdDAV%2FDownload%20Android.png?alt=media&amp;token=9f7d84e3-a027-4790-8f56-6276b0b0693d" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

1. [Generate an **APK build**](/app/download/android/generate-android-app.md) of your app from the [Download section](https://app.appmysite.com/app/download) of your AppMySite account.
2. [Install the APK file](/app/preview/test-apk-on-real-device.md) on your Android device.
3. Launch the app to view your splash screen, along with all other app features.

**For iOS Devices:**

1. [Install **TestFlight**](/app/preview/test-ipa-on-real-device.md) on your iOS device.
2. [Upload your app to TestFlight](/app/upload/ios/upload-ios-app.md) from your AppMySite dashboard.
3. Install and open the app via TestFlight to preview your splash screen and app functionality.

{% hint style="success" %}
Previewing your app’s splash screen is possible using the APK file on Android and TestFlight on iOS.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.appmysite.com/frequently-asked-questions/app-features-and-settings/splash-screen-not-appearing.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
